Penny's memory of life before Phandelver, the other defenders, and Leo is rather limited. She knows she had a mother and maybe some siblings but trying to call upon memories of them is futile. Leo found her in an ancient ruin she was surveying behind a locked door, and since then Penny has been living with Leo. Slowly trying to recover he memory and assist Leo in discovering what caused her to lose them in the first place. While in Phandelver she took up sewing and embroidery as a way to keep herself busy and her mind off of nightmares that were plaguing her sleep. After a few months Penny had settled in and started to consider Phandelver and Leo her home and her life pretty peaceful. Until that fateful visit to the apple thief's house and meeting the other defenders.

At first traveling with the other defenders was exciting and a great break from the calm of Phandelver. But after the parties first encounter and Penny awakening a deeper power in herself that had some gruesome (head exploding) consequences, Penny became more weary. Not of her new party members but of herself. Keeping the new developments a secret from everyone else, Penny hoped it would simply fade away like her memories. However, during the parties visit to Thundertree, Penny's powers grew in new terrifying ways. Suddenly faced with a bony monstrous talon growing from her wrist she tried her best to hide the new developments and rid herself of the new extremity. Unfortunately Leo discovered what was happening but quickly helped Penny hide from the rest of the party. Later the two had a heart to heart about the problems both of them faced and promised and promised to be completely honest with each other.

When the final confrontation between the Defendes and Glassstaff occurred, Penny tapped into some of her power in an attempt to heal Nevarra. But due to her inexperience she trapped a changelings hand in her stomach as she healed over the intrusion. Nevarra, who Penny was closest too has not been as warm since and Penny is becoming more and more worries. Additionally Valendor has voiced his suspicions to Alucard that Penny and Leo are covering up something strange…

As of season 2 Penny's powers have kept growing, and despite her and Leo's efforts, Naveara and Alucard have noticed something amiss. Penny

Penny is a slight girl with pale skin speckled with light freckles, largely due to extended time in captivity. Her hair is auburn and braided back into two pigtails to keep it out of her face. Her clothes are pale lavender shirt and cream skirt, hand-embroidered herself with lavender flowers and lace. At her waist is a silver chatelaine with small scissors and thimbles she uses in her crafts. Her clothing is basic in design but the embellishments Penny has added show more of her personality.

As her powers have started to develop so have the mutations that came along with them. At first a bony talon with purple veins emerging out of her wrist was the only indication of something changing inside. Recently the purple veins have spread to help heal major injuries across her face but who really know whats truly causing them to spread or weather or not they will continue to be helpful…

Penny has innate Psionic abilities, allowing her to cast “spells” without the use of traditional magic. So none of her spells appear as magical via things like Detect Magic.

Penny also has a strange ability to shift her form, after cutting her finger in Episode 3, her left arm is able to mutate and change into a variety of tentacle based weapons, including a small claw, a long claw, and a maul.

Additionally, Penny also has a healing ability, (out of character this comes from her Aasimar background) but this ability has proven dangerous as it has caused abnormal growths in her allies, which Alu'cor identified as The Blight.

Penny likes to knit her friends little animal friends that remind her of them, she has some trouble remembering what the animals she's making look like though.

Penny has no idea whats going on with Alu, Navvara, and Val, but she thinks its sweet

Penny was deeply upset over the deaths of Salt and Pepper during the parties first encounter with goblins. She now dotes over the parties mounts, Sugar and Spice.
